Small Field, Big Scores at Donegal Target Club’s “1500 Only” Match
Donegal Target Club hosted the latest round of the “1500 Only” series, with a select field of four competitors making the journey north. It seems the long drive, combined with a few competitors perhaps deciding their position on the overall scoreboard was safe enough already, kept numbers modest, but those who attended were rewarded with a relaxed day of excellent shooting and great company.
In the GRSB 1500, Gary Newman of IPA Pistol Club claimed Gold in Class A with a score of 1466.075, narrowly edging out Derek Dalton of Harbour House Sports Club by a single point. Julie Moran of Fermoy Rifle & Pistol Club completed the podium with Bronze on 1436.068. In Class D, Donegal Target Club’s own Gerry McKelvey took part in his first ever 1500 and recorded a personal best of 1350.048.
