Results – Donegal – August 2019

NASRPC were back on the range in Bracken, Co. Tyrone this past weekend for the Donegal Target Club National.  The ranges were still looking fantastic after our last visit at the NASRPC Irish Open only a short 2 months ago.

With this being the second last heat before NASRPC announce the teams for the upcoming IGRF World Championship and ITSF International in South Africa in October.

Competition in the Gallery Rifle 1500’s in particular was very strong.  A particular highlight was Courtloughs Eamonn Gallagher shooting a 1492.102 in GRCF, in doing so jumping to A class, this being only his fifth ranking score!!!

Also in the medals in the GRCF1500 was Hilltops Karl O’Brien shooting a personal best 1481.089 and in the process jumping to B class.

They weren’t the only one shooting well, with a number of people shooting PBs.

It wasn’t all Gallery Rifle at the Donegal Target Club National with Pistol, Target Shotgun, Benchrest and Prone were also on offer and scoring did not disappoint in those either.

Brackens Vincent Glenn shot a PB in 5 disciplines – great to see at this level.

Courtloughs Mark McCandles and Pat Fox have been slaving away in registration and stats for a week already, getting ready for the match and were on hand to make sure everyone knew where to be, what they were doing and ultimately how they scored and ranked.

Donal, Ruth, Mike, Kevin and all the gang from Donegal worked alongside ROs from Bracken and throughout the NASRPC to keep it all running smoothly on the ranges.  A big thanks to everyone who helped out.

Well done to the Bracken team for winning the Club Team event with a one point lead over Courtlough, with Woodlands and Donegal close behind.

You can find the results from the Donegal Target Club National here.

Our next National is the annual trip to Lough Bo Shooting Club in Co. Sligo. This will be the deciding National which decides who will have the honour of wearing a Team Ireland shirt for Gallery Rifle and Target Shotgun in South Africa this October.

This is traditionally the largest National event in the NASRPC calendar so we look forward to seeing you all there. Registration will open in the coming weeks so keep an eye on your inbox and NASRPC social media platforms.
