Results – ECSC – August 2022

Well done to everyone who endured the heat at last weekends National at East Coast Shooting Club, and a special thanks to all the volunteers who helped keep the ranges and stats office running all weekend.

Was great to see some new faces competing in their first national, and picking up a few podium finishes along the way.  We had a few old faces post new national records too, Con Dunleavy shooting a 118.016 in OSBPMT, and Tomas Jakubauskas shooting a 282.008 in Single Handed SBP25P.  In both cases adding a few X’s to their own previous records.  Mike Nestor set a new 3-year record in Smallbore Gallery Rifle T&P1 with a 300.018, having not shot T&P1 in over three years just proves that target shooting is like riding a bike, you never forget.

BRC and ECSC both struggled with an absence of some of their top shooters for the Kiel Cup, combined with a rule change allowing the prone competition to be shot with Field Sporting rules instead of Sporting Rifle opened up the door for some left field competition.  At the end of the day Courtlough took the win by only 8 points.  With each metallic silhouette worth 10 points a piece it was as close a race as you could get.  Something tells me both teams will be rolling out the heavy artillery for next year.

You will find the match results here, scoring challenges will be accepted until midnight Wednesday the 17th of August.

The next event on the calendar is Lough Bo, Co. Sligo on the 24th and 25th of September, confirmation and match notice coming soon.
