Results – Irish Open 2019

This year’s Irish Open in Bracken Gun Club, Strabane was our first in Northern Ireland and was a fantastic event.

Huge thanks to everyone in Bracken for all of their hard work, to everyone who volunteered over the four days to make the event a success, many of whom came away with weather beaten faces, hoarse voices, and stories to tell. And to all of the back office team (the ones without the sunburn) and, of course, to you the competitors who traveled from the four corners of Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, and Germany to compete in the event.

Individual performances were very good. Many, many personal bests it what were quite challenging conditions.

Ireland was victorious in both the Smallbore and Centrefire IGRF Gallery Rifle events, fending off a very strong challenge from both the UK and Germany.

We also held an invitational Pistol International based around our GP85 event which proved to be hugely successful, and very hotly contested with teams representing Ireland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and Germany taking part. Ireland won 1st place in Smallbore, followed by Northern Ireland and Germany. Germany took 1st place in Centrefire, followed by Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

Hopefully we will see this develop and provide an International aspect for our pistol shooters in upcoming events.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to next year’s Irish Open, for now please find the results from this year’s open here

Our next outing will be the Kiel cup hosted by BRC on the 24th/25th of August, see you all on the line.
