Go 1.9 km until you come to a farm entrance on your right with a Beech tree avenue leading down the hill from the stone wall entrance.
Go down the avenue until you see a fork to the right through a paddock. Follow this path around through 3 open gates until you come to a field with cars parked.
Park here and walk down to the range buildings.
Rules for the 3 Position Sporting Rifle event are as follows:
a) No slings or target shooting jackets are allowed. No spotting scopes. Hunting type jackets with padded elbows are OK. Shooting mats will be supplied or BYO. Distance to targets is 50M.
b) The positions are prone, kneeling or sitting(shooter’s choice), and standing.10 minutes for each position, called by the RO. 10 shots to count for each position plus unlimited sighters on the sighting bulls on the target..
c) The target is the usual 5 bull 50 Metre target. 2 bulls for zeroing and 10 shots into each of the other 3 bulls at each position. Any .22 Rifle firing target(low velocity) ammo can be used. The max weight of the rifle, scope and magazine is not to exceed 11 lb. This format is designed to attract the Gallery rifle competitors, who can use their semi autos etc., and those who would not normally shoot prone. The other attraction is that no target changes are needed in the details.
d) Anything else that comes up on the day will be at the discretion of the Chief Range Officer
Shooter’s Bring and Buy Sale
ECSC are also running a shooter’s bring and buy sales be held on the range during the day. Anyone can bring spare items and accessories to trade/buy/sell. This will be an ideal opportunity to perhaps sell on some of the ancillary range gear we have all accumulated over the years; range bags, binoculars, scopes, pigeon decoys, etc. There will also be an opportunity for people to contribute the the charities supported by East Coast Shooting Club, should anyone wish to make a donation.
There may be an opportunity to try your hand at Silhouette shooting during the event. If you are interested, bring it to the attention of the Chief Range officer on Range 1.
