July 2016 – NASRPC National Competition

The National Association of Sporting Rifle & Pistol Clubs will hold a National Competition in

East Coast Shooting Club, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow on Sunday 24th July 2016

  • Smallbore Pistol – Multi Target
  • Sporting Rifle – 50m Prone
  • Sporting Rifle – 3 Position (Club event)
  • Benchrest Rifle – Factory Sporter
  • Benchrest Rifle – International Sporter
  • Benchrest Rifle – Light Varmint
  • Benchrest Rifle – Heavy Varmint
  • Smallbore Gallery Rifle – T&P1
  • Smallbore Gallery Rifle – Multi Target
  • Smallbore Gallery Rifle – 25m Precision​

Entry Fee:
€10 Per Discipline, payable on the day.
€50 Discounted Entry for Entire NASRPC match

Pre-registration will open at noon on Saturday July 16th.
Note: Pre-registration is not mandatory, but recommended.

Please Note
All NASRPC Competitions are Open Competitions.

First Detail will begin at 10:00am.
Last Detail will begin at 15:30pm.

Results will be posted in the days following the event
Medals may be collected at later NASRPC events
Note: ​Medals will only be awarded in classes where there are sufficient entries.

All Events will count towards the 2016 NASRPC National Championships.

The range is located at Diamond Hill, near Roundwood Co. Wicklow.
Head south on R755 through Roundwood village until you come to the junction opposite the Church.   Turn left onto R764 signposted to Ashford.
Go 1.9 km until you come to a farm entrance on your right with a Beech tree avenue leading down the hill from the stone wall entrance.
Go down the avenue until you see a fork to the right through a paddock. Follow this path around through 3 open gates until you come to a field with cars parked.
Park here and walk down to the range buildings.

Rules for the 3 Position Sporting Rifle event are as follows:
a)      No slings or  target shooting jackets are allowed. No spotting scopes. Hunting type jackets with  padded elbows are OK. Shooting mats will be supplied or BYO. Distance to targets is 50M.
b)      The positions are prone, kneeling or sitting(shooter’s choice), and standing.10 minutes for each position, called by the RO. 10 shots to count for each position plus unlimited sighters on the sighting bulls on the target..
c)       The target is the usual 5 bull 50 Metre target. 2 bulls for zeroing and 10 shots into each of  the other 3 bulls at each position. Any .22 Rifle firing target(low velocity) ammo can be used. The max weight of the rifle,scope and magazine is not to exceed 11 lb. This format is designed to attract the Gallery rifle competitors, who can use their semi autos etc., and those who would not normally  shoot prone.  The other attraction is that no target changes are needed in the details.
d) Anything else that comes up on the day will be at the discretion of the Chief Range Officer

Shooter’s Bring and Buy Sale
ECSC are also running a shooter’s bring and buy sales be held on the range during the day. Anyone can bring spare items and accessories to trade/buy/sell. This will be an ideal opportunity to perhaps sell on some of the ancillary range gear we have all accumulated over the years; range bags, binoculars, scopes, pigeon decoys, etc. There will also be an opportunity for people to contribute the the charities supported by East Coast Shooting Club, should anyone wish to make a donation.

Silhouette Shooting
There may be an opportunity to try your hand at Silhouette shooting during the event. If you are interested, bring it to the attention of  the Chief Range officer on Range 1.
