Hi all , well where do I start?,the first outing of Target Shotgun Ireland and we can be very proud of all involved from the lads that shot and for the great support from all who attended. The inaugural shoot of the ITSF was a huge success both on a team and personal level as many shot PB’s and achieved Gold standards on our first international competition. This only goes to show that the huge amount of time and effort put in by all involved really did pay off and we’ve only just started !.
Here’s what we achieved,
1x gold, 3x silver, 2x bronze medals and one Grand master. The squad achieved 11 Gold standard awards,17 silver standard awards and 1 bronze standard award, not bad for the first time out.
It would be remiss of me not to mention our brothers in arms the Gallery rifle squads who showed us all how its really done and achieved a level we can aspire to,not only did they shoot incredibly well but there support and guidance at shooting at that level was invaluable especially as three of them shoot on both squads. We wish them all the best of luck in the upcoming world cup.
It wasn’t all shooting we did have a little down time and I’m sure all the lads would wish me to pass on a big thank you to both the German and British squads for the hospitality that was great fully received but not without a bit of competitive banter.
So a huge thank you from me it was a privilege to Captain this team.
