Well done to everyone in BRC for hosting a very enjoyable Sanctioned National Match across the weekend of June 6th & 7th.
A lot of work was put in by BRC & its members to get the ranges ready for the event – and they ran a tight ship across the weekend.
As always, it is a very popular event – only missing 100m Prone events this year – but they will be back.
We saw a lot of new faces to National Competition and we even had some people had not togged out for years.
The marksmanship (or is it markspersonship these days??) on display was very good.
ECSCs Bryan Preston was on a roll in the Prone Rifle,
Lough Bo’s Vincent Fahy cleaned up in the Benchrest,
There were a lot of great scores across the various pistol events too. In particular IPAPCs Gary Newman managed a possible – 300.019 – in the OSBPTP1 – promoting him to X class. Harbour House’s Edison Edward came out of the traps flying in the Pistol events at his first National, taking a good few medals.
Gallery Rifle also saw a lot of great scores – IPAPCs Gary Newman had the top score in the 1020 with a 1013.072.
ECSCs Stewart Clarke had the top score in T&P1 with a 297 and BRCs own Frank Feeney had he top score in both the Multi (113) and the 25m precision (263).
Its gonna make for some serious competition at the
2026 NASRPC Irish Open and IGRF World Championships in Fermoy from 2nd to 5th July.
It is already shaping up to be the largest event in years – you know you wanna come (and, if you win a medal at the World Championships, they’ll probably frame it and hang it on the wall down your local!
